I am very much a self-taught web designer. Anything I have picked up in terms of HTML and CSS coding was purely from on-the-job experience and library books. Like any good designer, I have always planned my designs in advance as thumbnail sketches. Usually, several sketches before the final design materialises.
Since 2006, www.stuartvallantine.co.uk has been designed by myself in glorious HTML and CSS. This version uses a framework known as "Skeleton" which enables the newest version of The S.V. Web Experience to work on smartphones and digital tablets as well as PCs.
In the last three years, I have gained greater knowledge of content management systems and PHP. Plus jQuery and responsive web design. Today's version of this site also uses jQuery; a future version may be constructed using PHP.
